Mouse Trap!

We've had mice in our house in the past few weeks, so naturally we've set up traps around the house. We put one in the pantry on the floor and I've always tried to be so careful to leave the door shut. Presley loves to get in the pantry and pull everything out. Well this morning, I thought she was in the family room watching tv, and turned my back for a bit. I left the pantry door open after I got out the pancake mix. About a minute later I hear - SNAP - and there is my sweet girl with the mouse trap hanging from her little finger and a look of terror on her face. My heart just about sunk into my stomach. I ran over and got it off her finger and held her so tight. She cried so hard for about a minute. Then, I gave her a binky and she seemed fine. I gave her a little Ibuprofen just to take the pain away cause I knew it had to be hurting her. I sat down and cried for a few minutes cause I felt SO BAD for turning my back and letting that happen... I still get sick to my stomach when I think of it!

Big Pink Ball

Today Steve took Presley to the grocery store. They walked past a bunch of toy balls and Presley pointed to them. She loves her little green ball that she throws all over and these were large ones! So Steve gave her one of them and she got so excited.  She held onto that ball through the whole store. When they got to check out, Steve took the ball from her so the cashier could ring it up and Presley screamed!  All the cashiers were laughing and thinking she was so cute. She even held onto the ball the whole ride home.

I'm not sure what it is with this pink ball but she loves it!  She has not let go of it almost all day. She held it on the way to Grandma's house and she even held in while Grandpa took her for a walk in her stroller.  She is too funny!

1 Year Appointment

Presley had her 12 month doc appointment today. She weighs 20 lbs 12 oz and is 29 inches long. Our little girl is getting big! She is as healthy as can be. Luckily she hasn't been sick at all since she's been born.  She had to have 3 shots today, I always feel so bad when its that time but the pain doesn't last for long. She didn't have a fever and didn't act fussy today at all.  Before her shots she was crawling around the floor in the doctor's office and was intrigued by Dr. Clayton. She started untying his shoes and pulling herself up on him. She let him check her with no problems.  She is such a good little girl!

Happy 1st Birthday Presley!

I cannot believe that Presley has already turned 1!  Her birthday is on July 19 and I am so glad that she has a summer birthday. Lots of fun stuff for parties!  We had friends and family over for some cake and ice cream. I made her a small cake for herself and let her go crazy with it. I think she had lots of fun! 

Her first tooth  broke through just a few days after her birthday. I noticed when I was trying to get something out of her mouth. She bit down on my finger and OUCH!  Sharp little sucker.  I love it when babies smile with their little teeth showing. I can't wait for it to become a little more noticeable. 

A few of her favorite things: 

She loves to play with her green ball. She'll try to throw it to you and loves it when you throw it back.  She's always kicking her feet and getting excited when you play with her.  

She has started to cling to a little stuffed duck. She kisses it and hugs it.  It is the cutest thing ever!  She's not really interested in any other stuffed animal except for this one duck.  

She love to eat!  She is the best eater and hasn't really ever been picky.  Pears were her favorite when she was first starting out with baby food. Now she LOVES blueberries and bananas.  She also loves the goldfish crackers and cheerios. 

She loves the Baby Boost channel on Comcast's On Demand.  She loves music and watching children play in these videos. I think some of her favorite songs are The Wheels on the Bus, Where is Thumbkin, and Itsy Bitsy Spider.   She'll watch those all day long if I let her.  

I never imagined how much love I would have for her until I had her. She has brought so much joy into my life.  She definitely brightens our home.  She is such a beautiful baby.  I love you Presley!
